Since we cannot meet in person for the time being, the practices are offered online, using the ZOOM platform.
This is a different undertaking from in-person rehearsals, but we believe it will be an enjoyable experience for participants.
The Fall 2020 season will be aimed at providing an opportunity to learn some new music and to improve our musical skills as well as to meet our choir friends online.
The rehearsals will be shorter than our usual 2-hour in-person rehearsals. However, the process will still provide a stimulating and engaging experience.
Doors to the online practice will open at 7:15 each Tuesday. The practices will last for an hour, and will consist of
- 15 minutes warm-up
- 30-minute sectional rehearsals with professional musicians leading each section. Sectional practices use Zoom’s ‘breakout room’ feature. Section leaders include: Joan Fearnley, Carla Klassen, Lyndsay Bolden Gowing and Risa Tonita.
- a final plenary session where we put the music together.
We are use pre-recorded tracks to accompany your singing.
Practices will work towards "virtual choir" productions of two or three pieces. Participation in the "virtual choir" productions isoptional. Members can opt out of this activity and choose just to participate in the practices if preferred. Technical advice about how to make a recording will be available.

Whatever you choose, we promise you that the rehearsals will be fun and stimulating.
